Welcome to the City of Ashland's Interactive Waterfront Map!

The city of Ashland is in the process of updating the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) for the Waterfront Zoning Districts to better reflect recent planning efforts for the waterfront, including the Comprehensive Plan and the Waterfront Development Plan. The goals of the zoning update process are:

• Reflect the community's vision for the types of uses that should be on the waterfront 
• Ensure that development on the waterfront is designed so that it is sensitive to the context of the Lake Superior shoreline 
• Outline the ways that green infrastructure and native landscaping can be incorporated in new development, and incentivize them if possible
• Make the Waterfront Zoning Districts easier to use and understand for all
